LEGACY in CANADA: Dr. Guido Geisler Legacy Award

– “Granted annually to a Varsity Blues Men’s Soccer student-athlete on the basis of good academic standing, consistently outstanding athletic performance, character, integrity, composure, work ethic, sportsmanship and leadership.”

… The University of Toronto community was deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Dr. Guido Geisler on October 26, 2018. Geisler obtained his Ph.D. from the Faculty of Kinesiology and Physical Education and taught sport psychology at the University of Tsukuba in Japan.
Geisler served as both head coach and assistant coach at the University of Toronto. As a player, he was an OUA all-star and a member of the 1988 CIS national championship team. Guido will be missed by his sister Claudia and his many friends, former colleagues, teammates and players that he coached.
He was a loyal, trusted friend remembered for his athletic prowess, drive for self-improvement, grace, dignity, warmth, and adventurous spirit.
