New Year Greetings and a Look Back at Last Year’s Japanese Culture Class

New Year Greetings from TIAS!

As we welcome the New Year, we would like to look back on one of last year’s highlights by sharing photos from the Japanese Culture Class, which featured students dressed in traditional Japanese attire.

Although the class was offered last year, its focus on kimono and Japanese customs makes it especially fitting to introduce at the start of the year. During the course, students experienced wearing kimono and yukata and learned about traditional etiquette in a tatami-room setting under the guidance of Professor Egami.

For many students, this was their first close encounter with traditional Japanese culture, making the class a memorable and meaningful experience.
Everyone looks absolutely stunning in their kimonos, and we look forward to another year of learning and cultural exchange at TIAS.
