3rd Batch Study Tour, March 28th, 2023

This year, we visited Fukushima and the Recovery from the Nuclear Accident, as a Study Tour for the TIAS2.0 students.

The study tour was planned and conducted with an aim to not only continue the legacy of the TIAS and Tokyo 2020 Games but also to let the new students at TIAS2.0 known about an highly used but not widely understood aspect of the award of Tokyo 2020, namely Fukushima – Recover and reconstruction was a key word before and during the 2020 Games.

Moreover, to look ‘out of Tokyo’ was also a factor in taking students to Fukushima prefecture and previously to Iwate prefecture (Rikuzentakata), so that the students, and especially international students, know more about these locations that were devastated by the 3.11 Great East Japan Earthquake.
