A visit to Field-R Law Offices and JIDRC

TIAS 2nd and 3rd batch students participated in this extra-curricular activity that was kindly organised by Shoichi Sugiyama Sensei, to his firm Field-R Law Offices and the JIDRC (Japan International Dispute Resolution Center). Sugiyama Sensei, an attorney specialised in sports law, teaches ‘Sports Organisation and Governance’ classes as a part-time lecturer in our program.

They started a tour with Field-R Law firm where Sugiyama Sensei takes part. There, he gave a brief lecture introducing the job of Pro Bono Lawyers in Sports Cases.

After that, they visited the JIDRC. Sugiyama Sensei shared his experience during the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 inside the JIDRC. Furthermore, he explained how the installations were adapted to receive the CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sport), for the resolution of the cases referent of the Olympic Athletes in Tokyo 2020. Finally, a little tour was held inside the JIDRC.
