National Taiwan University of Sport President Visited Institute of Health and Sport Sciences
On May 25, Dr. Kuang-Paio Hsu, President of National Taiwan University of Sport(NTUS), Dr. Po-Hsun Hsiao, and Dr. Yen-Chen Chiu visited Institute of Health and Sport Sciences. NTUS and University of Tsukuba(UT) are partner universities in the fields of physical education and medicine. Prof. Satoshi Shimizu(Special Advisor to the President), Prof. Koyo Fukasawa(Chair, Master’s Program in Sport and Olympic Studies), Prof. Hisashi Sanada and Assistant Prof. Taro Obayashi held talks with NTUS delegation. After a greeting from Prof Shimizu, Prof Fukasawa gave an overview of Institute of Health and Sport Sciences and Master’s Program in Sport and Olympic Studies (TIAS 2.0). Then, Assistant Prof Obayashi introduced the research on the Olympic and Paralympic Movements. Subsequently, the visiting group toured the Sport Sciences Area. During a tour, NTUS delegation showed a particular interest in the Olympic-related exhibits. After a tour, NTUS delegation had discussions with President Kyosuke Nagata, Vice President Jun Ikeda(Global Affairs).
Further academic and student exchange with NTUS is expected in the future.
