2023.10.12 Exercise programme with elementary school students from seven schools in Hitachi-Omiya

Following the event on September 28 event, an exercise programme with elementary school students from seven schools in Hitachi-Omiya was held on October 12 at University of Tsukuba(UT). About 150 pupils, teachers and UT graduate and undergraduate students from TIAS participated in the programme.

The children visited the sports facilities on campus and learned about the connection between our university and the Olympic Games by taking part in quizzes about the UT and the Olympic Games in simple English. They also experienced two activities on the American football field, where they were able to realise the value of the Olympics by working together in groups of about 10 and competing against each other.

It was also a good opportunity for the children, who will be entering the same junior high school next spring, to get to know each other.
