Feb 9th 2024: TIAS post-2020 Legacy International Forum Report

TIAS post-2020 Legacy International Forum has been held on 9 February, Friday, 2024 16:00-19:00.

The forum was opened by Prof. Shimizu and Mr. Kishi. Afterwards, the speakers gave their speeches, and the tias students gave their presentations. After the panel discussion, Prof. Fukasawa made a closing speech.

Achievements and Updates – Presentation by TIAS Alumni

Rurangayire Guy Didier, a master’s degree graduate from tias, was invited to give a keynote speech. With the title of “FORGING CHAMPIONS TOGETHER: Collaborative Pathways to Sporting Excellence”, Guy introduced the status of sports development of his company “Sports genix International”. Using the development of sports in his own company as a concrete example, Guy shared his views and outlook on the development of sports in Rwanda.
The second keynote speaker is Aman Shah, a tias masters graduate from India. Based on his experience working with Indian sports organizations, Aman gave a keynote speech on the title of ” India: A Growing ‘Olympic Nation’ – Evolving landscape of Olympic Sports in India”, using the example of Neeraj Chopra, the Indian javelin thrower who won the men’s javelin title at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Through this speech, Aman shared the current situation and future prospects of the Olympic project in India.

 

TIAS 2.0 students projects

After the keynote speech, tias students, represented by Anirban Chakraborty, presented the results of their FY2023 studies through three different titles. Firstly, Anirban introduced his academic research. Secondly, Nojo shared his views on sports in Rwanda through his internship experience. Finally, Daniela and Oshin shared their experiences and feelings during study tour in Taiwan.

  

What’s next? Group discussion

After the keynote speeches and presentations by speakers and students, a discussion on the topic “What is next?” took place in two groups. Participants actively shared their different understandings and opinions, and the “next” was quietly unfolding.
