2024 INSPIRING COMMUNICATIONS 19: Cross-University SPORT International Communication 1
May 17th 2024: Oshin Chanu Pukhrambam (3rd Batch TIAS2.0- Sport Science & Medicine) visits Toyo University, Akabanedai Campus (1 Chome-7-11 Akabane-Dai, Kita City, Tokyo), as a Teaching Assistant for one day.
The classes were conducted with Dr. Aashlesha Marathe sensei (Adjunct Lecturer at Toyo University, for undergraduate students). The classes were conducted in English and translated into Japanese. “We introduced them to two very old Indian traditional games, Langadi and Lagori, as part of their Global education course, (which focuses on demonstrating global sports for that class).
Initially, we demonstrated the games, and then we encouraged the students to participate. The students attentively followed the instructions as we effectively demonstrated and explained the games to them. Interacting with the students and sharing knowledge about these games not only provided Oshin with valuable insights but also enriched my teaching experience.
From my perspective, initiatives like this – cultural exchange through sports is a great initiative and important, and contribute significantly to my personal and academic growth; and, thank you to my academic supervisor for the introductions to various opportunities that make my Japan study & research a great experience.
Prof. Randep Rakwal also thanks Dr. Jun Mizushima sensei (Lecturer of Sport Coaching, Toyo University) for his continued cooperation with University of Tsukuba international students at TAIIKU & TIAS2.0.
