OUTREACH 3 & INSPIRING COMMUNICATIONS 36: September 27th, 2024 – “Creating AWARENESS, Developing the YOUTH”, visited “Meiho Junior High School” (JHS) Hitachiomiya City, Ibaraki Prefecture.
Communication STARTS at a YOUNG AGE. Continuing the SCHOOL PROJECTS (outreach of UT-GGEC program ‘Global Communication Skills Training’ course). UT Guest Lecturer (GGEC / TAIIKU, TIAS2.0) “Shige (Atsumi Shigematsu)” along with Prof. Randeep Rakwal (TAIIKU / TIAS2.0, UT), visited “Meiho Junior High School” (JHS) Hitachiomiya City, Ibaraki Prefecture.
This was our third visit (first was June 30, 2023, second was June 21st, 2024) – “Our second visit in this year (2024) to Meiho JHS was done on Sep. 27, and we had another great and fun day with bright school kids. This time again we played a communication game and talked about how important to select right words and ask effective questions in communication. We are sure that this event was well accepted by the kids and the teachers, and they have enjoyed it well. One thing we have found out this time is that there are some 7th grade students who are interested in learning and using English. It might be a good idea to use English in further events with them. We will continue this MAGIC activity, and are looking forward to meet them again (Shige.). (Prof. Rakwal.) talked to the students about ‘UNIVERSITY JOB’ and what is a JOB, and how a university can widen – broaden each students scope. WIDE was a key word raised by students, and also FOOD LOSS. Talking to students, sensei explained the importance of creating new things new ideas – something like in between their desks and chairs, between rows, the empty spaces which can be filled with their new ideas and dreams…
Why is communication key? After teaching university students (graduate/UG) the same question has inspired us to communicate its importance with schools (students), in this project, and if the youth cannot get the ‘learning; now, it will be too late…
In these activities as the team of MAGIC (INSPIRING COMMUNICATIONS© – Society for Investing in Practical Communication Learning and Mentoring by Inspiring Communications), we mainly focus on telling people about the importance of communication and the needs of improving and using English in their communication for their future (already coming) global societies. We will continue to disseminate these activities and meet people as many as possible in various generations and talk about the importance of communication and English skills to make their future lives better.
