GSI x TAIIKU x BGI (UT-HQ)::: an INSPIRING LECTURE (What does Judo mean? Difference in Judo teaching styles towards adults and children – Mission of National Judo Federation – Judo as an occupation – Question/ Answer session)
Dr. Michel Brousse (http://michelbrousse.fr Secrétaire de l’Académie Française de Judo), who is the current secretary-general of the French Judo Academy and former president of the University of Bordeaux, visited the University of Tsukuba (Global Sport Innovation) on April 7th, 2025. His knowledge of how to increase the mutual understanding between Japan and France through sports and academic exchange was extensive. Brousse sensei has also been awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette for his contribution in 2016. His knowledge grew through multiple experiences.
He was a member of the French judo team from 1969 to 1981. He was also the International Judo Federation Media Director for 7 years from 2000-2007. He drew from his vast reservoir of knowledge to give a talk where he presented his views on the current state of Judo in France and Japan.
