2024 – INSPIRING COMMUNICATIONS 15: April 20-21, had a chance to attend the Canoe Sprint Asian Championships

Xie YU, 3rd Batch, Teaching, Coaching, and Japanese Culture major, and 4th Batch, Masahiro MORI had a chance to attend the Canoe Sprint Asian Championships, also the Paris 2024 Canoe Sprint Olympic qualifier as a TIAS member.

Thanks to Team China, they had access to all areas and FOP. During the events, they had the opportunity to visit their athlete’s friends, former international and Chinese colleagues who worked with Team China and helped with communication in the ACC board meeting, together with ICF chair of Canoe Sprint. This experience provided valuable insights into the latest training methods, strategies, and overall developmental trends of canoe sprint.

By immersing themselves in the environment, they gained a deeper understanding of the sport and its global landscape. They are grateful for the chance to get back to the team for a short time and spend time with legendary coaches and athletes. In the end, they thanked TIAS2.0 for assisting them with the outfit, with which they introduced their program to key officials in this sports.

Masahiro MORI, 4th Batch, Olympic and Paralympic Education:
I could have the opportunity to work for the Canoe Sprint Asian Qualifier to the Paris 2024 Games. Since the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, I have been actively volunteering for paddle sports, including Canoe Sprint, Canoe Slalom, and Stand-Up Paddle (SUP). During this event, I was responsible for conducting venue tours for Tokyo citizens and raising national flags at medal ceremonies. These experiences have taught me valuable skills in promoting and facilitating opportunities for people to discover and learn about sports.
Utilizing venues from international sports events will be crucial for promoting both grassroots and elite-level participation. Being involved in such prestigious international sporting events has been an enriching experience, and I am grateful to the International Canoe Federation (ICF) and Japan Canoe Federation (JCF) for organizing these remarkable events.
Lastly, I want to express my gratitude to TIAS2.0 for their support and for providing me with the opportunity to represent our program.
